Detailed description
The name, “Jwagusan,” was given to the mountain because of its shape, which is reminiscent of a seated turtle facing the south. Without any major cities nearby, this area boasts a clear, unpolluted night sky. Also, there is a natural recreation forest, where you can stay overnight, and you can even enjoy a magical view of the universe and the stars from the observatory.
At the observatory, there is a 356mm refracting telescope, which is the biggest of its kind found in Korea, and it will allow you to clearly view the celestial bodies that cannot be seen with any other telescope.
